Saturday 10th April AFC Hornchurch 1 Maidstone United 0 It was left to Ross Wall to break the deadlock in the 69th minute with what many believe was the goal of the season. In a game where the Urchins enjoyed more possession and created more of the chances the game seemed destined for a draw until Ross hit the winner. Click to view Match Report

Monday 5th April Billericay Town 2 AFC Hornchurch 0 Two late goals bagged all three points for 'Ricay easing their relegation fears and dampening the Urchins aspirations of claiming a play-off place. Injury-hit Hornchurch probably feel they did enough to earn a point but sadly it was not to be. It does not get any easier as this coming Saturday we entertain Maidstone United who will be fighting hard for the spoils as they too try to lift themselves out of the relegation zone. Saturday 27th March Tooting & Mitcham 2 AFC Hornchurch 3 The Urchins showed their character today earning three valuable League points against a powerful Terrors side. Hornchurch took the lead in the 19th minute but the hosts hit back twice to make it 2-1. The lads stuck to their task well and with two goals of their own in the last 20 minutes snatched all three points. It was nice to renew aquaintances with Simon Parker. He scored Tooting's second goal, without celebrations - which proves what a true gentleman he is - as well as being a Hornchurch legend! The win takes us to 50 points moving us up to 9th place in the Table. Our next game is this Monday when we travel to Victoria Road, Dagenham to meet Colchester United in the Final of the Essex Senior Cup. Click to view Match Report

Tuesday 23rd March Horsham 2 AFC Hornchurch 1 An injury stricken Urchins succumbed to their second defeat in four days after battling hard against a well organised Horsham. Going in 0-0 at half time the game was still in the balance but the hosts struck twice within ten minutes of the restart and although the lads did pull one back it was not quite enough. We now move on to Saturday's game away to Tooting & Mitcham which will prove yet another stiff test of character. Click to view Match Report

Saturday 20th March Kingstonian 2 AFC Hornchurch 0 A goal in each half for the K's was enough to enflict only the third League defeat in 18 games on a weary Urchins team. The lads dug deep but the hosts proved too strong on the day. The pressure is still on as we quickly move on to an equally tough encounter next Tuesday when we travel for another away fixture versus Horsham. Click to view Match Report

Thursday 18th March AFC Hornchurch 1 Canvey Island 0 Hornchurch avenged the recent 1-0 defeat at Park Lane with a 1-0 victory of their own. Mitchell Start-Evans hit was to provw the winner at the end of a quiet first half where both teams found it difficult to get out of first gear. The second half saw much more action. The Urchins pressurised for long periods and created several clear cut chances which really should have been converted. However, Canvey also had their moments with Darren Behcet making some fine saves to ensure all three points went to the Urchins. We now have three very difficult away games at Kingstonian, Horsham and Tooting & Mitcham where the lads will need to be on top form. Click to view Match Report

Saturday 13th March AFC Hornchurch 2 Horsham 1 After Michael Spencer's 19th minute goal the Urchins looked well in control and were favourites to extend their lead. However, a momentary lapse in concentration saw Horsham score a well-taken equaliser to go in on level terms at the interval. In a very competitive second half the Urchins had the better of the chances and Rikki Burbridge hit the 61st minute winner. Horsham always looked dangerous on the break and had it not been for a another superb performance by Darren Behcet between the sticks the score could easily have been different. Three valuable points for AFCH and we now move on to next THURSDAY when we entertain our good friends from Canvey Island, k.o. 7.45pm Click to view Match Report

Tuesday 9th March AFC Hornchurch 4 Chelmsford City 3 Both teams served up a thrilling cup tie with the prize being a place in the Final of the Essex Senior Cup. However, the Urchins deserved their victory with everyone contributing to a superb team performance and now meet Colchester United in the Final - date and venue still to be arranged. Tuesday 2nd March AFC Hornchurch 1 Kingstonian 1 An excellent performance by the Urchins against another team in a play-off position saw them gain a well-earned point. Both teams contributed to what was a superb match to watch. The K's may be the happier as constant Urchins pressure in the last 20 minutes could have secured the victory. Although, were it not for a fine save by Darren Behcet in injury time Kingstonian could have stolen all three points.

Saturday 27th February AFC Hornchurch 1 Hastings United 1 The Urchins coped well against a lively Hastings side which always looked dangerous on the break. The pitch had taken so much water recently that it was difficult to play flowing football but both teams still managed to put on an excellent show for the fans. Both teams had their chances to take all three points but 'honours even' was a fair result.

Saturday 13th February
AFC Hornchurch 1 Margate 0 In a very tight and even game it was the Urchins who secured the three valuable points which lifted them two places up the table. Jo Flack's 18th minute goal gave Hornchurch the lead and the same player could have made it 2-0 with a penalty kick but it was saved by the visitor's 'keeper. One goal never seemed enough as Margate pressed for an equaliser. However, the home defence held firm and it was the Urchins who went home happy. AFC Hornchurch 2 Carshalton Athletic 2 In a very entertaining game the Urchins made it three draws in a row as each side again claimed one point. Despite Urchins flying start (2-0 up inside 15 minutes) the Robins always looked dangerous on the break. Following a robust challenge in the 84th minute Ben Boyce was sadly helped from the pitch with what looked like a serious ankle injury. We hope it is not as serious as it looked and Ben is ok. Urchins now move on to a very important League Cup Fourth Round tie at Aveley in just two days time.

Saturday 26th September
Margate 0 AFC Hornchurch 0 In a game which neither team could afford to lose probably a hard-fought draw was the predictable result. However, the Urchins can take a lot of positives from the game - not least for keeping a clean sheet for the first time in seven starts. The home side may feel they should have claimed all three points following their second-half penalty miss - albeit a dubiously awarded penalty in the first place. We now move on at our next game - an intriguing friendly on Tuesday evening at home to our good friends and close rivals ROMFORD FC from Ryman North. Click to view Match Report

Tuesday 22nd September
AFC Hornchurch 0 Cray Wanderers 2 Sadly the lads were unable to build on last Saturday's superb performance and two second half goals secured all three points for the visitors. On the night the Wanderers were the sharper, hungrier team and their victory was well deserved. We now move on to a vital game away to MARGATE where a defeat would see us fall into the drop-zone. Saturday 19th September
AFC Hornchurch 2 Harrow Borough 1 The Urchins bounced back with their best home display of the season and treated their fans to some supperb football. The scoreline does not reflect their dominance as they controlled the game for long periods. The three well-earned points lifts us back into a mid-table position and three more in Tuesday's home game against Cray Wanderers could even see us challenging for a play-off place! Saturday 12th September
AFC Hornchurch 0 Billericay Town 3 Sadly the Urchins fell at their first hurdle in this season's FA Cup competition. The visitors were worthy winners and looked sharper and quicker than their hosts. With the game goal-less at the interval the second half proved decisive with 'Ricay netting three times to move into the next Round. Click to view Match Report

Saturday 5th September
Bognor Regis Town 4 AFC Hornchurch 2 The luckless Uchins battled hard but went down to their third successive RPL defeat at Nyewood Lane today. Whilst there is still much to do on and off the pitch it is not time to panic. Only three points separate 8th and 20th in the League so a few good wins should see us climb out of the danger area. It is the time, however, for all fans to get behind the team and help lift the lads with some encouraging vocal support. Our next game is a very important F.A. Cup tie at home to Billericay Town next Saturday. Please come along and make it a game to remember. Click to view Match Report

Saturday 29th August
Sutton United 4 AFC Hornchurch 1 The Urchins found themselves 2-0 down within 10 minutes of the start and when an unfortunate own-goal made it 3-0 to the hosts there was little chance of salvaging anything from the game. The lads showed more spirit in the second half but the damage had already been done. We have little time to lick our wounds as we entertain League leaders Dartford on Monday, k.o. 3pm. Our visitors will bring a healthy following so the boys will need all your support if we are to secure all three points. Click to view Match Report

Tuesday 18th August
AFC Hornchurch 2 Boreham Wood 1 The Urchins completely dominated the first half with some superb passing football and well deserved their 1-0 interval lead courtesy of a 29th minute Paul Shave goal. Wood came back strongly in the second half in what was to prove a very entertainng game. Joe Stevens increased the Urchins lead after 52 minutes but the visitors hit back six minutes later and pressed for an equaliser. The Urchins kept their heads however and claimed all three points. Our next encounter will be at HOME on Saturday to Tooting & Mitcham United. Click to view Match Report

This thoroughly entertaining game proved an excellent workout for both sides with a draw being a good reflection of the game. On tonight's performance the signs for the Urchins are very encouraging as they played some excellent football. Our thanks and appreciation are extended to Eastbourne Borough who made the long trip to us tonight and played their part in a very enjoyable evening.

One thing is for sure - the Urchins will be ready for the fight when the Season starts on the 15th of August. Click HERE to view the Match Report
