The Young Urchins cruised to a comfortable Junior Alliance victory over Billericay with a performance which should have been rewarded with a more emphatic scoreline. A determined start from the home team set the tone for the game and the lads played some of their best football of the season.

The disappointing 1-0 defeat to Hullbridge in freak conditions last week was soon a distant memory as the Urchins set about the visitors and could have had early goals with chances for Conor Fagan, Nathan Wilson and Sean Ashman.

Fagan did have the ball net in the net but ruled out for a dubious looking offside flag but Urchins did take the lead albeit via a gift from the goalkeeper but taken advantage of by a piece of smart finishing by Ashman. Further chances came and went and several opportunties from a string of corners spurned.
HALF TIME 1-0

The 2nd period started in the same vein, Ashman desperately close on two occasions in as many minutes to extend Urchins lead before substitute Alfie Lee cooly slotted home a well taken goal following the move of the match, involving Fagan and fellow sub Conor Fletcher.
Fagan again went close to cap a great individual performance as did Centre Half Sam Burton with a powerful header from a corner.

Just one defeat in 5 now for Urchins, unfortunately only 1 game left to play for the lad now - a real resurgence in form and performances mean the seson has ended too soon.
