Following the disappointing news of Mat Fanimo’s departure, the Board are delighted to announce the signing of powerful and prolific striker Christian Assombalonga from Chelmsford City.

Chris has made a habit of scoring against us this season having done so for Chelmsford City and Waltham Abbey last weekend.

Alex Sharp commented “Chris is a player we have admired for a few seasons now, and someone we tried to sign at the end of last season. He is a fantastic addition to our squad and someone we believe can play at a much higher level, which was very much in our thinking when we decided to bring him to the club. Chris is coming to a great club and I know our fans will make him feel very welcome, even if they didn’t last weekend!”

Jimmy McFarlane said “Chris is a big physical striker who is difficult to play against, as our back 4 will testify from last weekend, I’m delighted Chris has agreed to come to the club and I think he will be very successful here as we push for promotion to the Bostik Premier Division. I’d like to thank Rod Stringer for his help in getting this deal done in time for tomorrow’s game”

Chris goes straight into the squad for Saturday’s game against Dereham Town
