Congratulations to Jimmy McFarlane who led his team out for the 460th time on Saturday vs AFC Sudbury and now becomes the longest serving Hornchurch manager beating Arthur Wenborn who managed the club for 459 games.
Before venturing into management Jimmy played for Hornchurch 107 times making his debut on 22/08/2006 in a 5-0 win vs Great Wakering Rovers. As a player he scored 8 goals for the club.
Since Jimmy took over the management reigns at the start of the 2009/10 season (a 0-0 draw vs Margate on 26/09/2009 being his 1st game in charge) there’s never been a dull moment with Jimmy at the helm as all but 1 of those 8 seasons has seen the Urchins either winning cup finals, losing cup finals, gaining promotoin, being relegated or getting to the divisional play-offs.
Well done Jimmy.
