A comfortable win for the Urchins, who had only two goals to show for their one hundred percent superiority, thanks to an incredible display from visiting keeper, ex-Urchin Simon Morden. Urchins kicked towards the windmill end in the first half, and nearly took the lead when a Kris Lee shot on the turn, from Oakley’s centre, crashed inches over the bar. Oakley and Wall both went close, as Urchins forced five corners in a sustained attack, and they eventually went in front on 29 minutes when KRIS LEE turned sharply and although his shot hit the post, it cannoned back into the net despite the efforts of a defender to clear. Second half was one long siege on the away goal, started by Ross Wall, whose shot was parried by Morden, and the keeper raced back to hook the ball off the line. Richards went close, his shot from the edge of the area being tipped around the post, and Morden save in spectacular style from a hard Brothers drive. ROSS WALL hammered home the second goal following a corner, and Maldon defended desperately – so much so that two players were booked for what can best be described as very late tackles. Billy McMahon made his debut in goal for the Urchins but did not have to make a save all night. However for the Urchins it was an expensive night, with seven ball booted into oblivion.
