A first defeat for Tony Choules with an injury hit squad which struggled against a more organised Bognor side and the strong winds.

Chances for both sides came in the first few minutes with Matt Russell firing against the crossbar and then having his second effort from the rebound saved by Micky Desborough on 6 minutes and then Andy Douglas flicking a shot wide from the edge of the area after a good run and lay-off from Danny Hill a minute later.  Bognor top scorer Luke Nightingale nodded just wide from a Dave Piper cross on 14 minutes but 10 minutes later the home side were in front, Dave Piper sending in a cross all the way to far corner of the area to the unmarked Matt Russell who took his time to slot home.  A second goal from Matt Russell came with 8 minutes to go when he headed in following another Piper cross but three minutes later hopes of a come back were raised when we were awarded a penalty following a handball. Danny Shipp stepped up as usual but could only send his kick wide.

We put some good passes together in the second half but the home side always looked comfortable and a third goal came in the 65th minute, Micky Desborough getting a hand to a Dan Beck effort but unfortunately straight to Nightingale who popped the ball home from close range.  A second goal in two matches for Chris Stowe came in the 83rd minute folllowing an intelligent through ball from Danny Shipp but it was too late and Desborough had to make a couple of finger-tip saves at the other end in the closing stages to keep the score down.
